Canadian Fine Arts

Natalie Timmons

I love art because I can work with my hands and manipulate the materials in a tangible way.  It also allows me to express my thoughts and feelings in a way words cannot.

I love teaching because I can share my knowledge and skills with my students, witness their growth, while encouraging them to try new things, takes risks, and never give up.

Born in Texas, raised in Virginia, I am a true southern girl at heart.  I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University, ranked #1 in the country as a public university art school.  While at VCU I had the amazing opportunity to study abroad in Florence, Italy.  This experience heightened my awareness and passion for art and art history.

I taught art for three years for Canyon ISD at Westover Park Jr. High in Amarillo, TX.  It was here I met my husband, and after a year of marriage our journey took us, and my two step kids, to Wheeler, TX.  In addition to our two kids, we now have a very sweet baby girl.

This is my second year teaching in Canadian, and I look forward to seeing our students' talents come out in their art.
